Editing events

The editing of events is kept very simple. You can add new events, edit existing anniversaries or just delete them.

  Add ..: You can add a new event the following way:

• Selecting the menuitem Edit -> Add ...
• Selecting the appropriate icon on the toolbar
• By typing the shortcut <Strg> + N

  Edit ...: You can edit the selected item in the currently selected list, if you have selected exactly one item. If you have not selected any event or if you have selected multiple anniversaries, the editing is not possible (the menuitem and the icon on the toolbar are disabled).

• Selecting the menuitem Edit -> Edit ...
• Selecting the appropriate icon on the toolbar
• By typing the shortcut <F2> or just <Enter>

  Delete ...: You can delete one or more elements of the list. If you have not selected at least one anniversary, the menuitem and the icon on the toolbar are disabled. Before deletion, you will be asked, if you are sure to delete the items, to prevent unintended deletion.

• Selecting the menuitem Edit -> Delete ...
• Selecting the appropriate icon on the toolbar
• By typing the shortcut <Del>

The editing

If you create a new event or edit an existing one, you will see the following windows.

Firstname: Please enter the firstname of the person. In the preferences of anYChe you can define, how this name is shown in the anniversary list.

Lastname: Please enter the lastname of the person. In the preferences of anYChe you can define, how this name is shown in the anniversary list.

Anniversary: In the first field you have to enter the the date of the event. It is not necessary to enter a year. This feature can be important in your office, because some women do not like if anybody know their real age ;-) And of course, there are some anniversaries which do not have a specified year like name days. But if you have entered a year, then anYChe will calculate the age of the anniversary. Beside the date you can also define the type of the anniversary. The available types and the preselected anniversary can be defined in the preferences of anYChe.

Notices: Here you can type in any notices like ideas for presents, telephone numbers or mail addresses.

With a click on OK all changes will be transfered to the currently selected list of anniversaries. The button OK is only available, if one of the name fields is filled and you have entered a valid date. If you click on Cancel all changes will be lost.
